Travel Fee by Mile with Wordpress
** Warning: Because there are so many variables with WordPress in both template complexity and hosting configurations, Event Rental Systems can not guarantee that travel fee by mile will work with your particular installation.
As a result, we don’t support this feature beyond the standard installation instructions. If this is a critical feature for you, we advise testing it before building your entire website on the platform.
By default, “Travel Fee by Mile” is not compatible with Wordpress websites because the ERS Google Maps API is bypassed outside of our system. It is possible to enable Travel Fee by Mile by creating your own Google Developer account using the following steps:
1. Setup your Google Console at https://console.developers.google.com/apis/.
2. Follow the instructions HERE to switch your key restriction type from an HTTP referrer to an IP address restriction, and use the IP address of your WordPress website.
3. Switch from "browser" type to "server" type inside the google developers console.
Choose a project.
Go to Dashboard.
Click on +Enable API at the top.
From the library, choose Google Maps Geocoding API and Google Maps Distance Matrix API.
4. Your API key will need to be entered into ERS.
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with your Google API Key and ask us to create the setting “Account Google Maps Client Id” for you under Admin > General Config > Misc Settings
