Release Date: June 19, 2025
Available For: ERS Pro+, ERS Elite (after 7/5/2025)
Setup Required: Yes – via kickoff form and onboarding team
Use Case: Multi-location operators with multiple folders under the same brand who want to redirect customers by zip code to the correct inventory and pricing.
🚀 Overview
The Territory-Based Websites feature allows operators to create and manage different service areas (or “territories”) within a single company, each with their own:
- URL routing
- Inventory
- SEO configurations
-
Pricing & travel fee logic
This functionality is ideal for companies with multiple warehouses or service hubs operating under a single brand – but not set up as franchises.
🔍 Key Benefits
- Smarter URL Routing: Automatically redirect customers to the correct territory site based on zip code input.
- Targeted SEO: Improve local search visibility with custom subdomains or folder structures (e.g., fortworth.myrentalcompany.com vs dallas.myrentalcompany.com).
-
Location-Specific Pricing: Control travel fees or pricing logic per territory.
🛠️ How It Works
1. Corporate Folder Setup
Each territory setup starts with a corporate folder, which holds shared assets like pages and branding.
- Your main domain is typically tied to this folder.
- The inventory lives only in the territory folders, not the corporate one.
2. Territory Definition
You define territories using zip code groupings. The system automatically detects the customer’s zip code at checkout and routes them to the appropriate sub-site.
🧩 Compatibility
- Works with existing product sharing.
- Requires existing folders or new ones can be created.
- Supports routing even if territories do not strictly match your service areas.
🧾 Getting Started: Kickoff Form
To request Territory setup, fill out the Territory Onboarding Form. The ERS team will work with you to determine the best configuration for your business and complete the initial setup for you.
🧠 FAQs
Q: Is this the same as a franchise?
A: No. Franchises involve separate business ownership and franchise fee/royalty billing. Territories are for a single owner with multiple service areas.
Q: Can I use existing domains?
A: Yes. Or you can use ERS-structured subdomains for SEO benefits.
Q: Can I have more than two territories?
A: Yes.
