# How to Set Up and Manage Your Inventory Display in ERS
Welcome to ERS! This guide walks you through the basics of setting up and managing your inventory, including categories and items.

## Visibility Management
- **Sort By Button**: Sort categories either alphabetically or in a custom order you've set.
- **View Options**: Choose between a **List View** or a **Card View** for displaying your inventory.

## Managing Categories
Each category includes a name and an associated image. This image will appear alongside the category name on your website.
### Category Controls
- **Up/Down Arrows**: Reorder categories to control how they appear on your website.
- **Hide Icon**: Temporarily hide a category and its items from customer view. Hidden categories remain accessible for editing, deleting, or reactivating.
- **Collapse Arrow**: Collapse the category view to simplify your screen.
- **Pencil Icon**: Rename a category. For example, change "Deluxe Bounce Houses" to just "Bounce Houses" and click **Save** to update.
- **Gear Icon**: Access advanced category setup (covered in a separate video).
### Adding Categories and Products
- **Add Category Button**: Create a new category.
- **Add Product Button**: Add a new item to your inventory.

## Adding an Item
To quickly add a new item:
1. Click the **Add Item** card.
2. Enter basic item information.
3. Select an image from the library or upload your own using the **Choose File** button.
### Example: Adding a Birthday Bounce House
- **Item Name**: "Birthday Bounce House" (this name will appear on your website).
- **Quantity**: Enter how many units you have (e.g., 1).
- **Cost**: Set the rental price (e.g., $200).
- **Category**: Defaults to the category you started from, but you can change it (e.g., to "Obstacle Course").
Click **Add Item** to save.

Once added, you can:
- Edit basic details
- Delete the item

- Save or cancel changes
