This guide walks you through the process of setting up and managing items within your inventory using Event Rental Systems (ERS).
## Item Setup Overview
The item setup page allows you to configure detailed information about each inventory item, including its name, display settings, categories, media, descriptions, SEO settings, configuration options, and pricing.
### Basic Information
-**Item Name**: Internal name used in the Control Panel.
-**Special Display Name**: The name shown to customers on your website.
-**Item Type**: Choose between Regular Item, Package, or Add-On.
-*Regular Item*: Independent inventory item.
-*Package*: Combines multiple items (e.g., snow cone machine with ice and generator).
-*Add-On*: Optional or required extras (e.g., additional flavors).
-**Display**: Toggle between "Yes" and "No" to determine whether the item is visible to customers.
-**Categories**: Assign the item to one or more categories and set a primary category.
-**Internal Notes**: Add staff-only notes (e.g., setup requirements).
### Media and Content
-**Main Image**: Upload a primary image for the item.
-**Additional Media**: Add more images to showcase different views.
-**Description**: Describe the item and its ideal use cases.
### Web Page Settings
-**SEO Title**: Customize how the item appears in search engines.
-**Keywords**: Add relevant search terms.
-**Meta Description**: Provide a concise summary for search engines.
### Configuration Options
-**Suggested Add-Ons**: Optional extras shown during checkout.
-**Required Add-Ons**: Mandatory selections before checkout.
-**Setup Surfaces**: Define surface types and associated fees (e.g., $15 for concrete).
-**Receipt Reminders**: Add reminders to customer receipts.
### Pricing Configuration
-**Pricing Type**: Choose between Rent by Hour/Day or Sale.
-*Sale*: Flat price for items sold (e.g., t-shirts).
-*Rent*: Time-based pricing.
-**Base Cost**: Set the initial rental price.
-**Pricing Brackets**: Define time-based charges.
- Example: $200 base for 5 hours, $15/hour for hours 6–10.
