How Parent Categories Work
Parent Categories allow you to group related categories under one main category, helping your end users drill down into more specific options within a broader category.
Example:
You may have a main category called Tents. Under that, you might want to group the following subcategories:
-
High Peak Tents
-
Pop-Up Tents
-
A-Frame Tents
To do this:
-
First, create all your categories, including both the main and subcategories.
-
Then, edit each subcategory (e.g., High Peak Tents, Pop-Up Tents, A-Frame Tents).
-
Scroll to the Parent Category setting at the bottom of each subcategory and select Tents as the parent.
⚠️ Important:
Do not assign a category as its own parent. This will create a loop that causes the category to disappear from your site.
