Return on Investment (ROI)

Return on Investment reporting tells you exactly how profitable your inventory has been for you. In Admin>Products>Items you can fill out the fields listed below for each Item for which you'd like to get ROI (Return on Investment) reports, and the system will calculate your total ROI for those Items based on that information and your order and payment history. Once you've entered in the information below, you can look at your ROI Report at Reports>Product Reports>ROI Breakdown.

PRO TIP: editing all of the listed fields will be much faster if you do it in Spreadsheet Mode. Simply click into the dropdown menu that says Browse Mode and change it to Spreadsheet Mode, and you'll be able to make edits directly from the menu, instead of having to click into each Item, make edits, click Submit, click into the next Item, etc. If you're not seeing all the fields you need to edit, click into the menu that says customize, check the box for each field you need to look at (and feel free to uncheck any boxes you don't need to look at at that time), then scroll down and click Submit. You can also click on any menu heading to reorder the page alphabetically by that heading. For example, if you click on Category, all your Items will be grouped together by Category and sorted alphabetically within the Category.

• DATE ACQUIRED: exactly when did you acquire the Item? Format your entry in YYYY-MM-DD format, such as 2021-06-21.
• PURCHASE PRICE: how much did you purchase the Item for?
• COST OF GOODS SOLD: how much does it cost you to deliver this Item every time it is rented? Most people just enter in their estimated labor costs here. If you like, you can also add in costs like gas, insurance, cost of replacement, etc. For example, if it costs an average of $3 in gas, $4 in insurance (in this example, that's assuming your total insurance cost for the year on the Item is $200 and you expect it to be rented 50 times that year), $5 for cost of replacement (in this example, that's assuming a purchase price of $1,000 and a lifetime of 200 uses for the Item), and $25 in labor to set up the Item, you'd enter in 37.
