The general tax rate used as a default for all orders is configured in Admin>Rules>General Rule Sets. The standard rule set is called “Adjustments”. Select “Tax” as one of the available rules and enter the percentage in the box to the right. Note: All tax should be entered as a percentage (i.e. "7.5" for 7.5%).
Tax rates can be set for individual cities and zip codes in the following areas:
- Admin>Order Config>Service Areas>Cities
- Admin>Order Config>Service Areas>Zip Codes
PRO TIP: If you need to update the Tax Rate field for multiple cities, Spreadsheet Mode will enable you to do it more quickly.
If a tax rate is not entered, the tax rate entered in the General Rule Sets will apply. Tax rates entered in the Zip Code area will override the City area and City tax rates will override the Standard Tax Rate in Adjustments, if used.
